How to Read Decimal, Fractional and American Odds
The odds for the same match may be displayed in three different formats. All three express the same probability — only the way they are written differs.

Example 1 — Same odds in three formats
Team A to win, bet ৳500. Odds: Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. If Team A wins, total return ৳1,500 (profit ৳1,000 + original stake ৳500). If Team A loses, ৳500 is lost.
Example 2 — Odds on a favourite
Team B to win, bet ৳500. Odds: Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125 (minus means you must bet ৳125 to win ৳100). If Team B wins, total return ৳900 (profit ৳400).
In a multi bet, the odds of each selection are multiplied together. For example, if three selections have odds of 1.50, 1.80 and 1.90, the combined odds are 1.50 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 5.13 (rounded). A ৳100 bet returns ৳513 if all three are correct; if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Using a betting exchange at decimal odds of 2.50: BACK Team A — a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,500 profit before commission if Team A wins; if they do not win, ৳1,000 is lost. LAY (against) — your liability against a bettor's ৳1,000 stake is ৳1,500 (৳1,000 × 1.50); if Team A does not win you receive ৳1,000, if they win you pay ৳1,500.
One thing to note about American minus odds: -125 means a ৳125 bet wins ৳100 in profit. Favourites typically carry minus odds because they are considered more likely to win.
The difference in odds shows which team is considered stronger. Betting is always for entertainment — there is no guaranteed outcome.
When a wicket falls, when an over ends — live odds change
In-play or live betting lets you place bets while a match is in progress. In cricket this is especially dynamic because the situation shifts after every wicket, boundary or dot ball.
Say Team A has a strong start in the first 10 overs — the odds on Team A winning will shorten (they become the favourite). If three quick wickets then fall, the odds can flip and Team B may become the favourite.
If the bowling side has done well by the end of the powerplay, the odds on total runs for the next over will also change. This movement is what makes live betting engaging — but decisions need to be made quickly.
In Test cricket, live betting is more complex — odds can shift significantly at the start and end of sessions, especially if the pitch is damp or conditions change after the lunch break.
